Further Information on T'ai Chi by David Alan Arnold

This is a collection of essays I have written on the nature and principles of the form and applications of T'ai-chi Ch'uan. Decscribing and explaining the realm of t'ai-chi is a lot like pointing at a night sky while saying if you watch with your eyes wide open, in the nights to come you will see a big white moon crossing the starry void that will in time grow to fullness. With proper understanding of the conformational requirements of Tai-chi, and enough of the ancient Chinese secret of repetition, many unanticipated and unexpected goals will be achieved.

Free Educational Videos of Neoclassical T'ai Chi Forms

Here you will find links to many video examples of the Neoclassical form, both in its entirety and in short clips dedicated to defining and clarifying movements through the transforms. The intent of the recordings has always been to capture the form so it could be passed forward without being lost, so we hope these presentations are seen as attempts they are to capture the essence and ineffability of the evolving historical artifact that T'ai-chi Ch'uan is today. We hope you enjoy and find benefit from these captures of scenes from the great play.

Elypsis . . .

In the spirit of continuing the conversation as well as advancing the frontiers we present the Elypsis Blog for continuing thoughts on the balance of nature, the many ways T'ai-chi benefits and harmonizes our beings with that balance, and any new perspectives on the practice and application of the Neoclassical Form or longevity in general. Elypsis . . . is about staying here by sustaining, preserving body by proper training and enjoying living through appropriate approach and outlook.

Success in T'ai-chi Ch'uan is all, always and only a matter of personal motivation.
